 TU Berlin's Information Technology for Energy master’s program in Information Technology for Energy prepares students to find both theoretical and practical solutions: Students become experts in the development, implementation, and optimization of information technologies in electric energy power plants, particularly in the field of regenerative energy and fossil fuels. They also acquire a wide range of technical knowledge in the fields of information and energy technology, engineering, and business and economics.

Current scientific methods and developments and the economic, social, ecological, and industrial context of the fields of application play a central role in the study program.

The master’s program offers outstanding study conditions and facilities, including a “smart grid” testing site and a weather station for data preparation.

The Information Technology for Energy master’s program is held in two locations: the TU Berlin campus in EL Gouna, Egypt and TU Berlin’s main location in Berlin.

  • The formal admission requirements for the Information Technology for Energy master’s program are a first university degree qualifying the applicant for professional work as well as at least one year’s subsequent work experience in a qualified professional field. Applicants must provide proof of their aptitude for the subject, demonstrated by their first university degree. Applicants are awarded the following points for their completed study programs:
  •    35 points for the subjects electrical/electronics engineering, mechatronics, automatic control and systems engineering
  •    30 points for the subjects energy/power engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering
  •    25 points for the subjects chemical engineering, environmental engineering
  •    20 points for other It-related study subjects
