Course Details

The Homeland Security MA course at the American Public University will also build your leadership skills and knowledge of national security and defense. This homeland security master’s online program also addresses weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, intelligence, consequence management, and interagency government-related issues.

What You Will Do

  • Evaluate and propose changes at federal, state, and/or local levels, to reflect the evolving strategic policy issues associated with a statutory and presidential direction
  • Recognize terrorist group inclinations in order to forecast risks, types, and magnitude of terrorist threats most likely to confront the nation-state
  • Define and provide examples of statutory, policy, strategy, and legal differences between homeland security and homeland defense
  • Describe the roles/missions of USNORTHCOM and the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, and compare and contrast these with the Department of Homeland Security
