Overview
The Centre for Languages and Literature offers students access to the most modern resources for research and education. In the Language and Linguistics, Swedish and Scandinavian Languages program from Lund University, you will meet and study together with students from a number of different fields of specialisation. The languages of instruction are English and the language corresponding to the field of your specialisation. As a Master’s student, you will have the possibility of receiving funding for a stay abroad to conduct research on your Master’s thesis through grants available from the Birgit Rausing Language Programme.

- Compulsory courses common to all specialisations: Philosophy of Science for Linguists, Fundamental Linguistic Methods;
- Compulsory courses for each specialisation, and a Master’s degree thesis;
- Elective courses, to be selected from a list available from the programme coordinator.

General requirements
A Bachelor s degree with a major in Swedish or another Scandinavian language, corresponding to a Swedish major with 90 credits in Swedish/Scandinavian linguistics, and a completed independent paper/essay within Swedish/Scandinavian linguistics. Note that language learning courses for beginners can not be included in these 90 credits. Proficiency in Swedish, Danish or Norwegian. English 6/English Course B.
