By learning the capstones of banking and finance alongside the digital remodelling of the sector, our Fintech graduates build a sound understanding of modern banking, technology and what it takes to succeed in the areas in the modern world.
From the foundations of finance, risk management and financial econometrics to finance with excel, big data analytics and programming for Python, this flexible course allows you to choose a range of optional and compulsory modules to ensure you are set on the right path to suit your aspirations. Put your learned theory into action via live in-class case studies, industry visits and the use of our virtual trading platform – The Bloomberg Lab.
You also have access to our ASPIRE centre, a purpose-built entrepreneurial lab where you can develop, plan and launch your own start-up business.
Bloomberg Lab
This course offers extensive access to real market data via our Bloomberg Lab, a virtual trading platform that is bursting at the seams with real-world data and case studies to apply your newfound expertise.
Quants workshop
Kent Business School offers an optional one and half week refresher workshop in Mathematics, Statistics and Excel, prior to the start of this programme.
Industrial Placement
Industrial placements are the perfect way for you to enhance your career prospects and deepen your understanding of a specific area of expertise. This MSc programme is available with the option to take an in-company or self-employed industrial placement of up to 12 months (visa dependent), allowing you to gain work experience in the UK or overseas.

- A minimum of a second-class UK degree, or an equivalent internationally recognised qualification in areas such as the sciences, engineering, computing, maths, finance and/or business. Quants/programming based background is required.
- All applicants are considered on an individual basis and those without an honours degree may also be considered on the basis of work experience, professional qualifications and the relevance of the programme to their current professional role.

Funding
Kent Business School has a wide range of funding opportunities for postgraduate students, which include Scholarships, Bursaries, the Kent Business School Loyalty Award for University of Kent undergraduates and the KBS Early Bird Discount. The Early Bird Discount equates to 10% off tuition fees (apply by 31 March 2023 and pay course deposit by 30 April 2023).
