Overview
Aeronautics, space, transportation, energy, environment, biomedical, et cetera are as many fields whose developments rely on research advances in mechanics or mechanical engineering. In this broad context, the various tracks of the Master programme in Mechanics at the Université Paris-Saclay address students with a Bachelor degree (in Mechanics or equivalent) developing a particular interest for computational and experimental science, and possessing curiosity and scientific rigour.
Learning outcomes
Mechanics - International Track at CentraleSupélec allows finding job opportunities requiring high technicity, either as engineers, or as senior executives, or as researchers in a company, in public institution laboratories or universities. Relying on CentraleSupélec's resources and its mechanics laboratory MSSMat, but also on those from other partner institutions, the programme allows to continue with a doctorate in the frame of the doctoral school SMEMaG "Sciences mécaniques, énergétiques, matériaux, géosciences" for instance.
Programme Structure
Independently formulate a mechanical problem to meet a given objective, from the modeling of a study system to the modeling of stresses and boundary conditions, through finding an appropriate approach to resolving the problem.
Use theoretical or practical concepts and knowledge to understand a problem and put it into an equation.
Proficiently apply analytical, numerical or experimental problem-solving tools: reasonedchoice of existing tools or ad hoc production of specific tools, followed by critical analysis of results.
Design and optimise an innovative scientific and/or technological solution from a development or research perspective (this may concern a product or an experimental protocol).
