Big Data Scientist: As a Data Scientist you work at the interface between computer science, mathematics, management and statistics after your studies. Your goal is to use your company’s collected data as profitably as possible. You are not only responsible for analysing the data but also placing it into a business context.

Big Data Engineer: The duties of a Data Engineer are very diverse. In general terms, they take care of all processes related to the generation, storage, maintenance, processing, enrichment and transfer of data. An important aspect here is the setup and monitoring of the hardware and software infrastructure - starting with the conception, purchase and installation of all necessary components up to decisions about what software and services are used.

BI Consultant: As a BI (Business Intelligence) consultant, you prepare, transform and  make data analysable. This enables you to identify trends, analyse  customer behaviour and provide solid foundations for your company’s future decisions. You act as a link between IT and the respective departments.

Academic Requirements:

  •  Completed degree from a public or officially recognised university/higher education institution in relevant field. 
  • At least a “satisfactory” or Grade C equivalent earned in your previous degree.
  • Your undergraduate degree should be worth 240 ECTS credits. 

If you are lacking ECTS credits from your previous studies, you can demonstrate professional work experience for your online degree instead:

  • To start a 60-ECTS MBA (One-Year MBA), you need a minimum of 210 ECTS from your previous studies and one year of work experience. You need to provide proof of an additional year of work experience until the end of your programme.

English Level:

  • Proof of English skills
  • If English is your native language or you graduated from an English-speaking school/university, you do not have to prove your English skills

  • Speexx B2.2 Certificate (complimentary when signing up with IU - free of charge) 

Work experience

For some 60-ECTS master programmes, you will need to have achieved one year of professional work experience before starting your studies.
