The Department of Economics at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev with more than 20 full-time senior faculty, offers instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels to around 800 students.

The M.A. in Economics at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev intended for those interested in expanding their applied and theoretical capacities and acquiring the required skills for high-level positions in both the public and private sectors. It also forms an entry path to PhD programs in economics offered by top institutions around the world for those interested in taking the research program. The selection of courses/workshops in the program present the students with the opportunity to specialize in fields appropriate to their interests and priorities.

 The program also offers a new specialization in data analysis that includes programming courses (i.e. Python, R), machine learning, financial data analysis, behavioral economics and more. Studies are generally conducted in Hebrew, besides a number of courses that are conducted in English.

  • Proficiency in English is mandatory for all programs. Applicants must successfully pass the TOEFL examination (85/120) or the equivalent IELTS examination. The English proficiency requirement is waived for applicants who received their Bachelor's degree in a program taught in English.

  • For thesis track only – finding a supervisor.
