Overview
Through our courses, students will gain essential knowledge and skills in finance, FinTech, and digitalisation necessary for navigating the changing landscape of the finance industry. Not only should students have a strong understanding of finance and technology in the digital age, but also a well-balanced critical awareness of ethical and regulatory constraints and knowledge of the hottest industry trends.
Business opportunities generated by “big data” in finance and insurance, along with other emerging digital technologies including blockchain, AI and cloud computing will be explored in detail. Graduates of the Master of Finance in Financial Technology Programme at The University of Hong Kong are expected to be technologically adept and business savvy individuals who can offer innovative solutions to finance-related industries.

General requirements
To be eligible for admission to the Master of Finance in Financial Technology Programme, a candidate must:
Hold a recognised degree or equivalent;
Obtain statements from two referees, regarding his/her suitability for the Programme; and
Obtain a TOEFL/IELTS* score if you are not from an English-medium university. Minimum score requirement: TOEFL: 80 | IELTS: 6 (with no subtest below 5.5)
Candidates with computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, statistics or science and technology related background are highly preferred.
GMAT/GRE scores are not required, but a good GMAT/GRE score will be favorably considered and can be helpful for marginal cases.
In general, applicants are not required to attend an interview during the admissions process.

Funding
We offer merit-based scholarships to new students at the time of admission. The amount of each scholarship is subject to the performance of the candidate. All eligible candidates will automatically be considered and no separate application for the scholarship is required.
