The programme is designed to prepare you for the real-world challenges of working with data. Your studies will help you to learn how to translate theory into practice – while also providing you with invaluable hands-on experience.

You’ll sharpen your technical and technological abilities by analysing real data gathered from our cosmology, cybersecurity and health informatics research. You can also look forward to mastering useful data mining tools and data visualisation software.

Upon completing the programme, you’ll be equipped with the expertise needed to help you succeed as a data professional, including the ability to:

  • Design and implement data mining-based applications to solve business problems
  • Analyse, visualise, and interpret your results to present data-driven insights
  • Model and implement data warehouses
  • Manipulate and process datasets and apply various core statistical models
  • Design and implement a database for businesses when given a set of requirements
