Safe sedation practice requires the combination of applied basic science and clinical theory, practiced clinical skills, and experience managing risk. Students undertake an intensive on-campus training week in October before undertaking a clinical practice placement at our partner dental centre. Students return to campus in the Spring term for consolidation of their learning and preparation for exams
CareersGraduates of this Dental Sedation and Pain Management programme at University College London (UCL) will be qualified to expand their practice as operator sedationists and/or dedicated sedation practitioners. Being able to assure a comfortable dental experience has obvious benefits for patients and opens opportunities for practice with a wider variety of patient groups.
In addition to the benefits for patients and revenue, previous graduates have expanded their careers into sedation training and education, and research into sedation in dental practice.
Dental sedation is an increasingly in-demand service whether in your own practice or contracting your services to other practices.
