
Overview
The Health Care Informatics (Certificate NDP) program from University of Arizona is designed for those with a graduate degree and a healthcare background (nursing, medicine, public health, dentistry, nutrition sciences, pharmacy, etc.).
No previous experience in healthcare informatics is required. To be eligible to sit for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Informatics Nursing Certification exam students will need to complete the 12 credit option, including the 200 hour, 3 credit practicum.

General requirements
To qualify for entry into a Certificate program, you must have a degree and active licensure as an advanced practice nurse (nurse practitioner, nurse anesthetist, clinical nurse specialist or certified midwife). Additionally, applicants to the AGACNP specialty must have RN experience in an acute care setting. Certificate programs admit for a fall start only.
- Advanced practice nursing degree (MS or higher, focusing on APRN certification)
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
- Two letters of recommendation
- Unrestricted RN licensure within the U.S. AND current APRN certification (NP, CRNA, CNS, CNM)
- Advanced practice national certification
