The new Sustainable Industrial Pharmaceutical Biotechnology program from University of Siena is a unique novel educational program conjugating bio-chemical with management and sustainable development knowledge. 


The focus is on the industrial biotech-pharma sector, where Italy ranks first in Europe for export and production and first in the world for innovative contracts. In order to keep the competitive advantage, a paradigmatic change is necessary in education, where crucial elements must be included on socio-environmental-economic sustainability as well as on the deep digital transformation of Health and Industry 4.0. General requirements

Candidates are required to hold a three-year Bachelor/Undergraduate degree (or higher) (B.A.) in one of the following fields of study:

  • Biotechnology
  • Biological sciences
  • Agriculture and Forestry
  • Agricultural sciences and technologies
  • Chemical sciences and technologies
  • Pharmaceutical science and technologies
  • Physical sciences and technologies

The admission of international students will be evaluated by the EC through Transcript and Curriculum, possibly integrated by an online interview.

Tuition Fee

The amount of tuition fees is based on both the student’s family income, as declared in the ISEE certification.The ISEE values for the calculation of contribution range from a minimum of € 16.000,00 up to a maximum of € 90.000,00 in order to properly consider the real economic conditions of the family. For ISEE less than € 16.000,00 no contribution is expected.
