Overview
The subject integrates anatomy, physiology, behaviour, ecology, evolution, and conservation to provide a comprehensive understanding of species structure and diversity. Humans have created a rapidly-changing world to which animals have had to adapt. Understanding the amazing diversity of animals that share our planet helps us to understand our origins, as well as predict future evolution.
The Zoology programme at University of Lincoln is led by research-active staff who specialise in a wide range of disciplines and encompasses the study of key aspects of modern zoology in a diverse range of invertebrates and vertebrates. As researchers in the School, students will have the opportunity to collaborate with academics working on studies and projects.
How You Study
Due to the nature of postgraduate research programmes, the majority of time is spent in independent study and research. Students will have meetings with their academic supervisor, but the frequency of these will vary depending on individual requirements, subject area, staff availability, and stage of programme.
