What is this master track about?

This master track focuses on adult psychopathology. This field within psychology is studied from a scientific point of view. In this programme, we examine in particular the more complex varieties of psychopathology within an urban context. As we are located in the vibrant city of Rotterdam, this urban environment is often our field laboratory for our research and findings. In this context, complex psychopathological problems,  like personality disorders and addictions often occur.

Curriculum

The curriculum of the master programme Clinical Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam   consists of a series of course periods. In the first half, every course period covers one so-called ‘block’ and one practical training. 

Every block covers a specific psychological theme. All the activities that you will undertake during this period, i.e. lectures, tutorials, and assignments, are related to this theme. In addition, every course period includes a practical skills training.

Career:

If you have followed the research training track, the master Clinical Psychology prepares you for a career as a policy researcher or advisor at institutions conducting research on addictions, like the Trimbos instituteOpens external or NIVELOpens external. Moreover, you are able to work in the forensic field or at governmental institutions. Furthermore, some graduates work as a policy advisor for mental health care institutions or health insurance companies. Those interested in pursuing a PhD position will find this master track a suitable option as well.
