The IT for Energy program at TU Berlin Campus El Gouna is a newly introduced master program, unique in its kind in the MENA region. The ITE program deals with the design, development, optimization and realization of renewable energy and fossil fuel-based energy-conversion plants with the support of information technologies.

Information technologies and their implementation in the energy sector is a challenging topic that grasps more and more attention as it is urgently needed for implementation in energy industry. 

Meanwhile the ITE program covers the application of information technologies developed in the energy domain. Main application areas are electricity generation, energy storage and energy consumption management. Students will learn how to analyze, design, and implement information technologies to the needs of the energy sector. Increasing energy efficiency as well as cost- and environmental effectiveness of energy conversion processes which are most significant and complex urgencies in the field of energy. Both winter terms of the 2-year program take place at the Campus in El Gouna. During the summer term lectures are held at the main campus in Berlin. Students are therefore exposed to two very different study environments, offering a unique interdisciplinary and intercultural experience.

Students will learn how to analyze, design, and implement information technologies to the needs of the energy sector.
  • Both winter terms of the 2-year program take place at the brand new Campus in El Gouna, while in summer the whole campus travels to Berlin. Students are thus exposed to two very different study environments, offering a unique interdisciplinary and intercultural experience.
  • The ITE program is shaped to prepare professionals for conducting advanced research or take on leadership positions in industry as it teaches at a level beyond that of a bachelor‘s degree.
