Robots are becoming increasingly common and have moved out of an industry setting into everyday use. Robots mow our lawns, do vacuum cleaning, transport beds in hospitals and keep us company from time to time.

The fourth industrial revolution is taking place, and it can be observed in digital, smart factories where humans and robots are collaborating. As robots are increasingly becoming a part of the society, there is a need for more knowledge about the unique interactions between humans and robots for a number of applications. At the Master Programme Human-Robot Interaction, you will learn how we humans can work and interact with various types of robots in an effective and sustainable way.

The focus of your studies

The programme provides you with comprehensive knowledge in psychology, interaction design, informatics and robotics. You will take courses in industrial ergonomics, technical leadership and scientific methodology.

During the programme, you will learn about current research and development in the field of human-robot interactions and use the robot lab. A majority of the teachers in the programme have experience in human-robot interaction research and are working on ground-breaking projects thus exposing students to the latest trends in this important and exciting area.

Representatives from companies and other partners add case studies to the curriculum, and some courses will be conducted in collaboration with industry companies and other organisations.
