MPH in Public Health - Health Policy and Management program from Florida International University provides students with core skills in management, policy analysis, public health economics and how to use evidence in decision-making.

Students in the Public Health - Health Policy and Management program from Florida International University get specialized training in continuous quality improvement (with an option of obtaining the Health Care Professional Quality Improvement Certification), health system budget finance, and risk management in health systems (supporting getting the state of Florida health care risk management certification). Students completing this masters are positioned to start or advance careers in hospitals or health systems.

Graduates make a difference through research and partnerships with South Florida health care and non-health care organizations as they explore innovative solutions to society’s most pressing public health problems. Some of the topics include: Who has rights to health care and what kind of care should people receive? Which policies should we have in place to support small businesses for the next outbreak? Our students learn how to shape these discussions and debates.

Graduates from the Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM) are poised for careers in health care management and population health management. From making the delivery of health care safer and more efficient to expanding health insurance coverage, our graduates are trained to make sense of today’s complex environment. Our unique location in South Florida allows us to incorporate diversity into our research, which ensures our graduates develop into culturally sensitive leaders.
