Middle-grades teachers, particularly those who hold dual certifications, are increasingly sought out and in high demand in Pennsylvania and across the country.

The College of Education program in Middle Grades and Special Education at Temple University is designed to ensure not only that there are certified teachers to fill the local and national need for inclusivity, but also that our students graduate with expertise in learning and teaching and a commitment to pre- and adolescent learners from diverse economic, ethnic and geographic backgrounds. To that end, the master’s program aims to build deep content-specific educational knowledge that aligns with the variety of academic standards and wide-ranging developmental demands of middle-grades students and students with special needs.
