Programme overview

The Master's specialisation in Theology focuses on the relevance of theology for contemporary society and the emancipation of underrepresented groups in society. Radboud offers a diverse and ecumenical space for training theologians and scholars of Christianity. You can choose from a variety of specialisations, including Biblical Exegesis, Practical Theology, Church History, Systematic Theology or Christian Spirituality.

General requirements

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree in Theology or a related area, which is equivalent to a Dutch WO Bachelor.
  • A proficiency in Hebrew and Greek: In order to take part in the 'Biblical Exegesis' specialization, you need to have a basic knowledge Hebrew and Greek. Students need to be able to show, in the form of successfully completed electives or degrees that they have the required proficiency. In order to take part in the other specializations (Practical Theology, History of Church and Theology, Systematic Theology), knowledge of Hebrew and Greek is not required.
  • A proficiency in English
