
Overview
The Research Methods (College of Education, Psychology and Social Work) program from Flinders University includes a substantial 18-unit research thesis/project (one semester/six months) and the research methodology topics that provide the comprehensive research knowledge for applicants who do not otherwise have the research experience required to apply for entry into a higher degree by research.

What you will study
The Graduate Diploma in Research Methods consists of 36 units (equivalent to one year full-time).
In addition to the 18-unit research thesis/project, the course also includes 18 units of topics such as field-specific research methods, writing a literature review and ethics proposal, and specialised subject areas.
Graduates will gain the following:
- advanced knowledge of underlying academic principles and concepts in your area of study
- skills to independently plan research activities, manage your time, and present your research both orally and in writing
- the capacity and skills to undertake independent research
- the ability to critically evaluate and analyse complex issues and deploy evidence in support of a research output.

- the necessary knowledge to apply the principles of ethical practice in the conduct of research
- advanced skills in formal reading, academic writing and the presentation of research.
