Overview

Gain the skills to collect, process, analyze and interpret data in order to guide business strategies and decisions through our one-semester certificates, which can lead to a full diploma program.

As a student in the Data Science full-time certificates at Berkeley Global, you’ll study topics such as statistics, data mining and visualization, and reporting by learning from experts in their fields.

Internships

If you successfully complete the Data Analytics or Data Science certificate—or both—you can start working through a three-month internship at a leading San Francisco or Silicon Valley company!

  • Put your newfound skills to work
  • Gain work experience
  • Build connections
  • Expand your network

You'll see firsthand how a U.S. business runs, giving you a competitive edge when you're ready to land a full-time position in Data Analytics or Data Science.

Optional Practical Training (OPT)

Optional Practical Training is an opportunity for those studying in the United States with an F-1 visa to apply their knowledge with practical work experience. If you successfully complete both the Data Analytics and Data Science certificates, you'll be eligible to apply for paid temporary work authorization in the U.S., also known as Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Imagine yourself using Spark or Python to analyze complex data sets. Creating a visualization of data to guide decision-making. Running statistical models to forecast business growth.

With OPT, you can apply everything you've learned to real-world projects and gain valuable work experience.

Accreditation

The University of California, Berkeley, is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). UC Berkeley Global—like all other UC Berkeley schools, colleges and departments—is accredited by WASC through the University.
