When thinking about the concept of a modern city, the importance of spatial planning and urbanism is vital so that society itself can develop in the most optimal way possible. Territorial Management and Urban Studies professionals are able to actively intervene in a qualified and innovative way in the formulation of strategies and concrete solutions for the problems that arise in the planning, construction, rehabilitation and management of urban and metropolitan spaces.
Based on technical knowledge and a deep capacity for critical reflection, this master’s program aims to provide advanced training in the practice of planning and land management, as well as in the implementation of advanced and innovative techniques for processing information in the analysis of problems and responses in the scope of spatial planning and urbanism.
Career Opportunities
Instituto Superior Técnico MSc graduates in Territorial Management and Urban Studies may work in the design of systems, installations, equipment and services that promote the functioning of a territory. This Master Programme offers two types of professional opportunities: in research and in acting as a technical planning and territorial management, in employers such as:
- public and private consultancy bodies;
- land use planning and strategic planning;
- research entities.
