As a Kent Business School student studying Healthcare Management , develop essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills in managing healthcare organisations. Taught by international experts, this course enables you to get to grips with corporate strategy and finance, leadership and marketing alongside the study of global healthcare including areas such as sustainability, management of integrated healthcare systems, patient inclusion and health economics.
You also have access to our ASPIRE centre, a purpose-built entrepreneurial lab where you can develop, plan and launch your own start-up business.
Centre For Health Services Studies (CHSS)
CHSS is a centre of research excellence that undertakes high-quality research into a wide range of health systems and health services issues at local, national and international levels. CHSS also supports and advises health care staff to develop and undertake research projects. CHSS collaborates with a wide range of partners in Kent, the UK and in other countries to improve the links between research, policy and practice.
This course is available with the option to undertake an industrial placement ranging from 3 – 12 months depending upon your visa requirements (if applicable), allowing you to gain work experience in the UK or overseas. This option is also available for students wishing to undertake a self-employed placement, or ‘SELFIE’ as it is also known.
While the placements are self-sought, The School offers support to those students seeking an industrial placement, through extra-curricular engagement with our dedicated placements team.
Students considering this option should be aware that they will be required to complete all stage 1 and 2 modules and that there may be additional costs in terms of accommodation, for example.
Our Healthcare Management graduates find work across many realms of the NHS and private healthcare institutions. They also go on to work in general management and consultancy both overseas and in the UK in a wide range of companies and organisations.
