This new MSc Aerospace Structures and Materials programme offered at Queen Mary University of London is for students with an aerospace engineering or material science degree who want to specialise further in this innovative, fast growing sector.

What you'll study

On this new new MSc Aerospace Structures and Materials programme offered at Queen Mary University of London, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation in aerospace structures and materials science. We’ll build on your existing expertise by giving you an in-depth understanding of engineering approaches to current aerospace problems. As well as specialist skills in computational modeling, aerospace structural analysis, material selection theory and implementation issues.

You’ll then specialise in one of several highly-sophisticated fields, such as:

  • advanced numerical simulation of manufacturing in aerospace engineering
  • stress analysis of structures
  • aeroelasticity
  • computational solid and fluid mechanics
  • nanocomposites
  • and aerospace structures

You’ll gain the skills necessary to work in the aerospace engineering industry, whether as a researcher or as an engineer for a major aerospace company. You’ll also future-proof your career by collaborating with researchers working on alternative fuel sources.

You’ll be integrated into one of our research teams and work on an aerospace engineering-related project, supervised by one of our research staff. You’ll have access to our excellent facilities, enabling you to conduct cutting edge research that could lead to publication at scientific conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.

You’ll have the opportunity to gain industrial experience, as we try to ensure that you take part in projects with our industrial partners.
