The Florence Institute of Design (FIDI) offers three 1-year Master’s options: Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Furniture Design. All of FIDI’s courses are taught in English, with every program focusing heavily on Italian design principles.
FIDI professors come from countries around the world and bring an abundance of educational qualifications and professional experience to the classroom. Instructors of Furniture Design aim to develop and build upon students’ professional skills and knowledge in fields related to furniture: design, prototyping, production, and manufacturing.
Acceptance to the Master of Furniture Design at Florence Institute of Design International requires a degree with interiors, architecture or industrial design. The 30-week long program includes a combination of lecture, studio (including instruction on computer software like 3D Studio Max and VRAY), and history courses.
FIDI graduates are both equipped and prepared to find entry-level positions in their respective fields of study. The training they receive, along with the portfolio they build, throughout their time at the institute will assist them both in the application process and in the day-to-day work life as a design professional.
