About

To meet the increasing demand for structural engineers to design more safe, economic and environmental friendly buildings, the programme content has specifically been designed to give a thorough grounding on current practice with regards to dealing with structural fire and earthquake resistances and design of carbon neutral buildings.

A particular feature of the MSc programme in Structural Engineering offered by Brunel University London content lies with the emphasis on the performance-based, structural design philosophy. The strong focus on these aspects will appeal to any students who intend to become the next generation of structural engineers after graduation.

There are many career options within the civil engineering and construction industry both in the UK and overseas for graduates of the proposed programme. Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: Lower Second Class

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Lower Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

A 2:2 (or above) UK Honours degree, or equivalent internationally recognised qualification, in an engineering, science or technology subject. Other qualifications and relevant experience will be assessed on an individual basis.
