Overview

Please note effective 20 March 9pm AEDT, the Australian Government implemented new travel bans and restrictions whereby only Australian citizens, Permanent Residents, their spouses and dependants could enter the country. For students who would like to study a course that’s offered on campus, we will work with you to enrol you online first and transition you to campus once the travel restrictions change.

Student will gain a deep understanding of the attributes and challenges of individuals with Autism and their carers managed over the lifespan deepens participants’ knowledge to inform education practices. This is achieved by using a ‘person first’ approach. 

This Education (Autism) course from Torrens University Australia is focussed for students to increase understanding of Autism, develop and apply positive support skills to effectively engage learners in a range of educational environments. You will learn how to create supportive learning environments to shift away from traditional views of Autism to contemporary practice and authentic inclusive education.

  • The standard entry requirement for a postgraduate program is a completed qualification at AQF Level 7 (Bachelor degree) or above from an Australian University or an equivalent overseas higher education qualification.
Special Entry Requirements: 
  • Students without an undergraduate degree may be admitted to the Graduate Certificate on the basis of relevant professional experience. Relevant professional experience includes those who are currently working in education-related fields (e.g. Teacher Aides, Library/IT staff) and teachers holding alternative qualifications (e.g. DipEd).
