Overview
Thanks to a solid preparation in all the different branches of physics and astrophysics, both in the theoretical and observational fields, you can work in scientific research as a coordinator or member of research groups at universities and public or private research institutes, find employment in within high-tech industries (in particular space, optics, microelectronics, telecommunications, information technology) or dedicate yourself to high-level teaching.
Particular emphasis is placed on a solid background in physics and on the growing ties among astrophysics and different branches of physics (theoretical and experimental particle physics, detector physics, nuclear physics) in the coming era of multi-messenger observations.
Career opportunities
Graduates of the Astrophysics and Cosmology course from University of Padua work as coordinator or member of research groups in public or private research institutions or as professionals in industries with a technological profile or in sectors that require skills in modelling, testing, and interpreting large and complex data sets, such as consulting companies, research centres and public administration.
