With the Education - Secondary or Middle Level Endorsement program at University of Washington Bothell, the School will engage with school district partners, alums, and its advisory board to conceptualize its new programs. 

Overview

We anticipate many of the distinctive elements of the programs will remain in place, such as the dual certification options and the rich experiences that many of our candidates have had in Mukilteo, Everett, and Shoreline School Districts.

The Education - Secondary or Middle Level Endorsement program at University of Washington Bothell integrates courses and structured field experiences. You will be challenged to apply and extend what you learn in class to your work with youth in several school settings.

Academic requirements

English requirements

TOEFL admission requirements TOEFL® IBT The TOEFL iBT® is given online through the internet at designated testing site. The test measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. The score refers to the total score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading), each subject has a range of 0 - 30.

Other requirements

General requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Transcript Evaluation to ensure completion of appropriate courses in endorsement area
  • Pass all three sections of the Basic Skills Test (WEST-B)
  • Pass the WEST-E tests for Biology, Social Studies, or History endorsements

Work experience

60 hours of work with secondary or middle level youth, with at least 30 hours in U.S. public high school classrooms

Funding

Each year we offer general scholarships graciously endowed from individuals, organizations, UW Bothell alumni, businesses, and associations. These scholarships are available to students enrolled at UW Bothell.  We have two applications per year:

  • UW Bothell General Scholarship (awarded for autumn -- spring quarters) application available in March online.
  • UW Bothell Winter & Spring General Scholarship (awarded for winter and spring quarters) application available online in autumn.
