Overview
Winona State University will offer a two-year Masters of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) Program for students who have completed, or will complete by the MSAT start date, a bachelor’s degree and all program requirements.
Learning outcomes
This Athletic Training option at Winona State University allows students to complete the professional graduate program in Athletic Training, including all courses and clinical education requirements necessary to become a certified athletic trainer.
Students within this option should apply for the WSU MSAT graduate program during the fall semester of their final year of undergraduate work. With admission to the MSAT program students will begin graduate coursework during the following summer session. Upon completion of the graduate program students will be eligible to sit for the Board of Certification (BOC) exam.

- Possess a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (includes all institutions attended)
- Possess a minimum 3.0 GPA in pre-requisite courses
- Provide proof of current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid.
- Complete a minimum of 25 observational hours under the direct supervision of a BOC certified athletic trainer.
