Overview

WHY STUDY THIS PROGRAM?Dive deeper into French by pursuing a Master of Arts in Languages and Cultures (M.A.) at Millersville University. French is one of three specialization options within this graduate degree program, which is a collaboration between MU and West Chester University. The Foreign Language departments of both universities work together to facilitate the prompt and successful completion of students’ course work.With courses offered online, in the evening and during the summer, you can work toward this graduate degree while developing your knowledge and experiences through other professional or educational endeavors. The 33-credit degree program may be completed on a full- or part-time basis.Admission to the MU-WCU joint program is open to those applicants who possess a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university. Applicants must meet established university criteria of Advanced Low Level on the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) Oral Proficiency Interview, Oral Proficiency Interview by Computer (OPIc) and ACTFL Writing Proficiency Test (WPT).

  • A bachelor’s degree is required for admission to the graduate program. Applicants must meet established University admission criteria, including
  • receiving the Advanced Low level on both the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) Oral Proficiency Interview
  • (OPI) or Oral Proficiency Interview by Computer (OPIc) and ACTFL Writing Proficiency Test (WPT). Students scoring less than the Advanced Low
  • level will be retested after completion of the first three courses in the program.
