Overview

The curriculum seeks to further develop teaching competency and artistic practice among teachers in Arts disciplines in our schools.  The Arts Education core requirements, which are shared by all students in the program regardless of discipline, have an emphasis on arts pedagogy, and enhance an understanding of best teaching practices in any arts classroom. The distribution coursework, however, is flexible and should be customized to suit your own teaching and artistic emphasis; these courses are selected to deepen content knowledge and engagement with creative practice in Art or Music.

The M.Ed. in Arts Education offers art and music teachers graduate experiences creating in their own art and deepens their understanding of pedagogical best practices.

GMAT admission requirements GMAT The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a test intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an MBA. GMAT contains 4 sections - Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal. The score has a range from 200 - 800.

PTE Academic admission requirements PTE Academic PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. The score refers to a total score which ranges between 10 and 90.

Completed applications are reviewed on a rolling admission basis. Admissions requirements are as follows:

  • Official transcript of a bachelor’s degree preferably with (but not limited to) a major or minor in biology or an allied discipline and at least 2 semesters each of chemistry, physics, and mathematics from a regionally accredited institution
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Professional resume
  • Official transcripts of graduate level course work from a regionally accredited institution (if applicable)
