Overview
The Medical Ethics and Law programme from The University of Hong Kong aims at providing students with an appreciation of various aspects of the fields of health ethics and law, such as medical negligence and bioethics. The curriculum offers lawyers, social scientists, policymakers and healthcare professionals a guide to the fundamental ethical, legal and social issues influencing the delivery of healthcare.
Who is this degree for
This programme is open to candidates with a degree in law, or in medicine. Suitable candidates holding a degree in a discipline other than law or medicine with at least two years of relevant experience or professional qualifications will also be considered.

- hold the degree of Bachelor of Laws with at least second class honours of this University, or a qualification of equivalent standard from this University or another comparable institution accepted for this purpose; or
- hold the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from this University, or a qualification of equivalent standard from this University or another comparable institution accepted for this purpose; or
- hold the degree in a discipline other than law or medicine with at least second class honours of this University, or a qualification of equivalent standard from this University or another comparable institution accepted for this purpose; and have at least two years of relevant experience or professional qualifications;
- satisfy the University English language requirement applicable to higher degrees as prescribed under General Regulation G2(b).
