Key Features
This is a 30-credit program. The core curriculum is five courses in literature and research. Teachers may elect four more courses in literature, children’s literature, composition, communication studies, reading, or courses from the university’s Educational Studies department such as instructional technology.
The program’s capstone experience is a portfolio or an alternate plan paper. The English Education program at Minnesota State University Mankatois entirely online, with courses offered during the summer and during the school year. The program does not lead to secondary licensure. Applicants need to have a teaching license in English or be employed teaching English in a high school or community college.
