Visit the official programme website for more information

Overview

Topics in the International Human Resource Management research area at Abertay University  include the analysis of the relationship between national culture, organisational behaviour and management practice; the comparative analysis of the main policies and practices by which international organisations, mainly multinational companies (MNCs), manage their human resources in different countries; and the evaluation of contemporary issues and the future directions of international HRM, their implications and ways of dealing with them in an international labour market.

It also includes topics that are related to international recruitment and selection; international training and development; international rewards and remuneration; and international employee relations.

A research degree at Abertay is excellent preparation for a career as a researcher and an academic, as well as a diverse range of professions outside of academia, for example, in consultancy work.

What does a research degree involve?

As a postgraduate research student, you will carry out an original, independent research and/or practice-based project, whilst being guided and supported by a team of expert academic supervisors. As you do this, you will benefit from an extensive programme of researcher development tailored to your background, needs and future ambitions.
