The Electrical Engineering, Informatics and Technology programme of the University of Oslo will give you a solid background to take part in the society's technological development.

Why choose this programme?

The Electrical Engineering, Informatics and Technology programme of the University of Oslo is a collaboration between the Department of Physics and the Department of Informatics, and has two branches of study:

  • Microelectronics and Sensor Technology
  • Signal Processing and Depiction

The programme offers research related training through working on a substantial project (60 credits) in close cooperation with established research communities. The programme will give you vocational insight and train your analytical skills in order for you to offer significant contributions within research and innovation, and all areas of society of which technology is essential, such as energy and environment, medicine and health, information and communication technology, transport, the food industry and management.

Further studies and work

The work opportunities exist in many different industries and professions, for example within many areas of technological companies, like telecommunications, environmental surveillance, automation, microelectronics and medicine.

You can also work with teaching, research and development in both private and governmental businesses, sales and marketing of technology, or computer system operations and program development in industry and public management.

  • You must have a bachelor’s degree comparable to a Norwegian bachelor’s degree.
  • 4-year bachelor's degree or Licence.
  • You must have a minimum grade average comparable to a Norwegian C in the required specialization. A Norwegian C is described as a good grade, generally comparable to an American B and a Second Class Upper in the British system.
  • Documentation of English language proficiency.
  • Scan and upload your official transcripts documenting that you have completed your upper secondary education.
  • You must scan and upload your official bachelor's degree certificate and academic transcript.
  • Documentation of financing.
  • Passport or ID card.
