As everyone knows sustainability is a field of high importance nowadays and raw materials are essential for the future of Europe. The Resources Engineering (EMerald) degree from EIT RawMaterials Academy offers you the opportunity you draw your own future within a circular economy driven by regenerable resources!

Towards a more Circular Economy

It is the unique signature of EMerald to bridge the gap between geological exploration and mineral processing by offering innovative education in geo-metallurgy. However, when considering the circular economy paradigm, it is also obvious that the rapidly developing urban mining sector in Europe needs a similar curriculum in eco-metallurgy.

The ambition here is to help close the loop in a resource-efficient way by forming professionals who know the processing challenges and the need to meet targets in terms of recyclability. Therefore, based on these needs-analysis in the raw material sector, the new EMerald program has been implemented in order to offer a specialization during the second year in primary resources (LTU) or in secondary resources (TUBAF).

General requirements

  • Eligible candidates must have a bachelor‘s degree in Engineering with basic knowledge in Geology or a bachelor‘s degree in Minerals Engineering, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or a master‘s degree in Geology. At least 22.5 ECTS in Mathematics at university level are required. Candidates must also demonstrate proficiency in the English language
