The Computing Education (CCE) programme offered by University at Albany is designed to address the needs of teachers who seek to deliver effective and engaging curricula in computer science and/or introduce the new literacy of computational thinking to K-12 students. 

Overview

The Computing Education (CCE) programme offered by University at Albany provides teachers the knowledge, skills and competencies to teach introductory computer science courses such as Exploring Computer Science and Computer Science Principles. The program will also help teachers to develop their own developmentally appropriate curricula in computing for students in K-12 settings. 

This Certificate of Graduate Study provides a competitive advantage for teachers with interests in the rapidly growing arena of computer science and information technology. All courses in the CCE Program are also applicable to the Master’s Degree in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology.

GRE admission requirements GRE® The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. It contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.
GMAT admission requirements GMAT The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a test intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an MBA. GMAT contains 4 sections - Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal. The score has a range from 200 - 800.

To be considered for admission to UAlbany graduate programs, you must have completed a degree program equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree prior to enrolling.

  • Uploaded copies of your transcripts can be used for your admission review.  Official copies will only be needed upon admission.
  • Academic transcripts must be provided in the original language and accompanied by certified translations into English. 

English Proficiency

  • Since proven English proficiency is required to ensure success in UAlbany’s graduate programs, the TOEFL, the IELTS, or the PTE Academic exam is required for students whose native language is not English.
