Overview

All these directions are addressing emerging technologies in a wide field of application areas, such as optical communication and photonics, energy solutions, data storage and spintronics, green computing, and quantum technology.  

Skills that will be developed at this Applied Physics - Mastertrack Nano, Quantum and Photonics   programme from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e)  

  • a strong focus on the development and understanding of functional nanomaterials and devices in physics and/or chemistry
  • doing fundamental and application-oriented research on a wide range of functional materials such as spin systems, semiconductors, and organic/molecular materials
  • involvement in state-of-the-art experimental techniques for preparation and characterization of nanomaterials and devices, advanced computational techniques and practical theory development

Career

There is constant demand from industry and research institutes for graduates who can work at the boundaries between physics, chemistry and biology. Graduates can find employment in research and development laboratories in industry, for example at Philips, ASML, DSM, and Océ, or at research institutes such as TNO. You could also take up a position that makes use of your organizational and leadership qualities.

    • A Licenciado / Licenciatura, Titulo de Ingeniero (Superior), Titulo de Arquitecto or Titulo de Graduado degree (obtained after at least 4 years = 240 ECTS of studies) from an accredited university.
