Overview
Key facts
In planning such architectures, the applications architect plays the same central role as the traditional architect does for buildings: he or she designs a comprehensive IT or applications structure, which is then refined and implemented by others, and oversees its technical execution.
This requires a fundamental knowledge of current implementation technology. They also work at the interface between the client and future users to implement their requirements. The architect therefore requires knowledge from various areas to carry out his or her job. For this reason, Furtwangen University students are taught software, systems and business skills in the Business Application Architectures programme.
Job description
Graduates are qualified to work as architects in software and systems development. As a junior architect you will be able to design applications of moderate complexity or work with senior architects to develop large-scale systems. With several years of professional experience, you will then be ready to take on the responsibility of independently designing large-scale application systems.
Employment opportunities are to be found in software companies that develop individual applications, in industry, in commercial businesses, or in the service industry where the main focus will be on the networking and integration of existing and new applications.
