The Business and Law course at the University of Bern serves to deepen students’ business and legal knowledge at Master’s level.

Overview

The Business and Law course at the University of Bern is offered jointly by the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences. It is a mono program encompassing 90 ECTS credits. As a result, it is not possible to take on a minor subject.

Career

Students following the Business & Law program receive outstanding preparation for the interdisciplinary aspects of the professional world. The combination of studying both Business Administration and Law provides you with a comprehensive education that prepares you for a career in multinational companies, accountancy, non-profit organizations or the public sector.

Programme Structure

  • The Master's degree in Business and Law is a mono program and can be completed in a standard study period of three semesters. 
  • You need to obtain a minimum of 30 ECTS credits in Business Administration and 30 ECTS credits in Law. Courses are offered in German and, in some cases, English.

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with either a major in Business Administration or Economics (and a minor in Business Administration with at least 30 ECTS credits)
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with a single-subject focus in Law and courses at Bachelor's level in Business Administration (minimum 30 ECTS credits)

  • Non-Swiss students: CHF 200 per semester, in addition to the regular tuition fee, if they did not have their civil law residence in Switzerland or the Principality of Liechtenstein at the time of obtaining their university entrance qualification to a bachelor's degree.
