Throughout either an MSc or MRes degree, Architectural Computation students from University College London (UCL) develop the depth of understanding needed to exploit computation to create innovative architectural solutions for the future.

How will tomorrow’s built environment be designed and constructed? Taught by architects and experts in artificial intelligence, this Architectural Computation programme from University College London (UCL) equips students with the skills to create generative and responsive forms, through exposure to real programming environments.

Learning outcomes

Architectural Computation belongs to the school's suite of B-Pro programmes, which focus on advanced digital design and computation.

The programmes culminate in the annual B-Pro Show – an exhibition of student work attracting thousands of visitors to the school’s central London home.

  • Learn computational design skills for application at the highest levels of architecture, design, research and industry
  • Conduct scientific research that could change the way the built environment is designed, constructed and used
  • Share expertise and work with tutors and students across B-Pro, establishing collaborations for the development of unique multi-disciplinary research projects

After completing the MSc programme, most graduates go on to join leading architectural and engineering practices, either directly with design teams or with specialist modelling groups. Alumni have also joined (or founded) cutting-edge emerging digital design practices such as United Visual Artists and Moving Brands, or moved into academic research.

After completing the MRes programme, many graduates go on to join leading architectural and engineering practices, either directly with design teams or with specialist modelling groups.
