The International Security and Risk Management (Online Delivery) programme offered by the University of South Wales will provide industry-accredited security management qualifications to enhance your career, increase market value and demonstrate professional development. This Masters programme is delivered through online distance learning, which enables learners to combine their studies with work-based learning. There are three exit points – Postgraduate Certificate; Postgraduate Diploma and the MSc.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • A good Honours degree in a relevant discipline or appropriate professional qualification(s); or HND/HNC and relevant experience; or equivalent international qualifications.
  • Those without the formal qualifications above are encouraged to apply if they have relevant experience in the sector. You will be considered on an individual basis where appropriate experience is taken into account. The University mechanism for this is called Recognised Prior Learning which includes experiential learning. You need to state that you are applying based upon RPL. You may also apply for RPL to exempt you from some of the studies on the Masters course; to do this we will have a dialogue with you to help you through the process.
