Overview

Entrepreneurship - also known as entrepreneurial activity - involves seeking out innovative business opportunities and marketing them. The creative and commercial activities apply equally to existing businesses and the creation of new ones.

In this Business Administration - Entrepreneurship (Innovation and Growth) from University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland , students learn how to:

The Entrepreneurship major offers:

  • Possibility of gaining a dual degree with Swinburne University (Australia)
  • Close cooperation with HEC Montréal (Canada), the University of Liechtenstein, Worcester Polytechnical Institute (USA), the University of Lorraine (France), the University of Quebec at 3 Rivières (Canada), Tecnologico de Monterrey in Mexico (Mexique) and Swissnex Boston, New-York and San Francisco (USA)
  • A trip to discover a new market as a "student consultant" for one to three weeks each year, in Boston, Mexico or Asia

Audience

The multidisciplinary knowledge acquired through the MSc BA, majo Entrepreneurship equips you to respond to the challenges that affect the whole of the economy. Graduates may therefore join businesses ranging from multinationals to small and medium-sized local companies. They are also well placed to invest in a start-up. The numerous applied projects carried out in the various majors prepare them to work in areas such as:

  • Management of companies or public/quasi-public institutions
  • Project management in service development, in fields such as information systems, strategic intelligence or future strategy

Academic requirements

Unconditional admission to the MSc BA is available to:

  • Holders of a UAS Bachelor’s in a field related to Business, Management and Services
  • Holders of a Bachelor’s awarded by a Swiss university in the field of business and management, and who have a minimum of one year’s experience in the fields of business, management and services.

All other cases are subject to an admissions procedure based on a portfolio of evidence. Applicants must have a qualification equivalent to a UAS Bachelor’s in Business Economics and a minimum of one year’s experience in the field of Business or Management.

English requirements

General requirements

  • Holders of a Bachelor HES or other HES degree awarded by a department within the nomenclature of the Department of Business, Management and Services of a Swiss HES are admitted to the MSc BA.
  • Holders of a Bachelor degree awarded by a Swiss university in the field of Economy and Management, with evidence in the Department of Business, Management and Services, along with a minimum of one year’s professional experience are admitted.
