The MA program in Creative Writing and Publishing at University of Saint Thomas Saint Paul is focused on  intensive practice in the craft of creative writing, as well as training in the theory and practice of publishing. 

Overview

In addition to participating in poetry, fiction, and creative-non-fiction workshops, students have the opportunity to take courses in literature, pedagogy, and cultural studies. Classes are capped at 14 students, allowing for lively classroom engagement and personalized attention.

  • Three confidential letters of recommendation from individuals with knowledge of the applicant's relevant abilities and achievements. At least one must be from a former professor.
  • A personal statement of no more than 500 words describing the applicant's interest in art history and reasons for pursuing graduate studies at St. Thomas. 
  • A writing sample showing research and writing expertise (sample will not be returned).
