Overview
Key facts
Two tracks are provided. Students in the Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership program offered by the University of California, Davis, graduate with qualitative and quantitative skills necessary for professional research and teaching in health-care and health policy. Graduates of the nurse practitioner track receive a broad education that includes advanced skills in understanding complex problems and generating solutions, how health systems and health care works, how to improve quality, how to lead teams, and business aspects of care including informatics and reimbursement. Graduates of the leadership track prepared for health-care leadership roles in a variety of organizations and as nurse faculty at the community college and pre-licensure education levels. The nurse practitioner track prepares graduates to deliver care as nurse practitioners, with an emphasis on providing primary care to underserved populations throughout California as members of health-care teams.
