About

The aim of the Organization Design and Development programme offered by the Royal Roads University is to equip professionals with graduate-level applied, relevant, and theoretical expertise in designing organizations for the future.

Over the duration of the program, students can expect to explore Organization Development principles and practices, examine theoretical and practical perspectives of organization design, culture and change interventions, and acquire, and utilize, approaches and frameworks that make the necessary connections to organizational strategy. The program will focus on the application of learning in areas such as:

  • organization design, development, and strategy
  • organization change processes
  • systems and culture transformation
  • capacity building, measurement and evaluation

This program is for consultants, analysts, managers and practitioners who want to design and deliver customized interventions to assist organizations in leading and implementing positive stakeholder-engaged organization change. Those wishing to become effective, in-demand Organization Development Consultants, will be equipped with the knowledge, tools, and key skills necessary for conducting strategic analysis, decision making, and evaluation in complex organizations.

English Language Requirements

  • Minimum required score (Grade B2):

    C1 Advanced is a Cambridge English Qualification. It reports on the Cambridge English Scale between 142 and 210. You will receive a separate score for each of the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and for Use of English. These five scores are averaged to give you an overall result for the exam. Universities and colleges may ask you to achieve a specific score, either overall or for a particular skill.

    Note: degree programmes and applications may require a more specific minimum score for admission.

    PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. Delivered and marked by computer, it reports on a scale between 10 and 90.

Academic Requirements

Standard Admission
  • Completion of a four-year (or comparable) undergraduate degree in arts, science, or education (or an acceptable alternative) from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Normally, at least three years of relevant work experience in leadership, management, or organization development roles.
Flexible Admission
  • To be considered for Flexible Admission, applicants would have extensive, relevant work experience over at least five full-time years and, normally, some post-secondary education.
