Why the Environmental Sciences program at The Cyprus Institute ?
- Aligned with the research activities and educational focus of the Climate and Atmosphere Research Centre (CARE-C), a regional European Center of Excellence for Climate and Atmosphere Research based in Cyprus for the EMME region, focusing on addressing urgent climate change and air pollution challenges and impacts in the EMME
- Addressing great societal challenges at national and regional levels in line with the Cyprus Climate Change Initiative, launched by the Government of the Republic and scientifically coordinated by the CyI, aiming at the development of a Regional Action Plan to address specific needs and challenges faced by the EMME region

- Opportunity to pursue a PhD; graduates can apply for the PhD in Energy, Environment and Atmospheric Sciences offered at CyI, with certain course requirements waived and with generous financial aid options

To be considered for admission to a Master’s Program, applicants must have the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized accredited academic institution with a strong background in a relevant field of study.

- Proof of English language proficiency Applicants whose first language is not English must provide recent evidence that their spoken and written command of the English language is adequate for the program to which they are applying.
Proof of English language proficiency may be demonstrated by submitting one of the following certificates:
- IELTS Academic Version: at least 6.5 (taken within the past 2 years)
- TOEFL Internet-based Test: at least 79 (taken within the past 2 years)
- GCSE/IGCSE: Grade C or above (preferably with speaking)

- The Cyprus Institute offers financial support to prospective students based on academic merit. The financial support may be offered as a scholarship, research fellowship or work-study or a combination of any of these types of support.
- The Cyprus Institute offers full or partial scholarships to outstanding students to cover tuition fees and/or living expenses. These awards are typically for doctoral students but exceptional Master's students may also be considered.
