Overview

The addition of a dedicated Placement period further enhances the student experience and career prospects. The LLM will prepare you for a career in the commercial sector, in business, government or in NGOs.

It is the responsibility of each student to arrange his or her own Placement. Students who are unable to secure a placement will be completed on the LLM International Business Law Programme.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: Upper Second Class
Recommended score: Lower Second Class

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to Upper Second Class on the UK Honour scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of Lower Second Class or better on the UK Honour scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • Normally a 2.1 Honours degree or above or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University in Law, Social Sciences, Humanities, or a cognate discipline.
  • Exemption from these requirements may be considered for those applicants who hold a Master's degree (or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University) OR for those applicants with a 2.2 Honours degree (or equivalent qualification acceptable to the University) along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
