 The Becker College Master of Fine Arts in Interactive Media has been designed for recent interactive media graduates seeking to enhance their portfolios or who are interested in a career in higher education.

Overview

A Masters in Fine Arts in Interactive Media is a terminal degree in this field. The cornerstone of the MFA program at Becker College is Advanced Game Studio work, in which the student, under the direction of experienced mentors, completes an original interactive media project based on their own personal skill sets and vision.

The Master of Fine Arts curriculum has been designed with the following features:

  • The MFA student works with talented and experienced game design artists and developers;
  • The MFA student develops valuable networking relationships with industry professionals;
  • The MFA student has the opportunity to work on and create publishable interactive media properties;
  • The MFA student strengthens existing skill sets in order to advance in a current interactive media position or switch to the interactive media field from a related area;
  • The MFA student works with a faculty advisor/industry mentor;
  • The MFA student can take on role of product owner/art director for an interactive media experience (game, app, or installation) which is developed in the undergraduate Game Studio classes to produce a fully realized artistic experience.
  • The MFA student develops their own unique project from start to finish with the opportunity to showcase their work in a gallery exhibit at the end of their second year.
